Live Music

All bands play 5-8 p.m. Saturdays or 4-7 p.m. Sundays in the Pavilion unless otherwise noted. 

Sunday, June 14, 2–4 p.m. — A double bill of music for the kiddos:

  • RTTs, also known as Rhodes Tavern Troubadours, perform roots-rock originals like “Turn It Up Mommy” and “Snack Time.”
  • LMNO People, led by Hyattsville’s Audrey and Rick Engdahl, invite kids to sing, move and imagine along to their songs about dinosaurs, sandwiches and gardening.

Saturday, June 20 Pan Tones Steel Drum Ensemble, Caribbean steel pan music, including calypso and island tunes. Location: Fire pit

Saturday, June 27 — Fast Eddie & the Slowpokes, classic blues and rock n’ roll.

Saturday, July 11 Zedicus, fusion of reggae, rock, alternative and world music.

Saturday, July 18  — Cabin Fever, an energetic mix of timeless rock, folk and improvisational jam band grooves performed with rich harmonies and driving rhythms.

Saturday, July 25, start time TBDPoolapalooza, Poolio-powered live music festival. Rain date is Sunday, July 26.

Saturday, August 1Flower Avenue Band, high-energy rock covers and groovadelic originals.

Sunday, August 16 — Chordial Winds, quintet of flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon — a unique combo with a fun sound. Location: Fire pit

Saturday, August 22Vibe Collective, classic and original Latin jazz.

Saturday, August 29 — A double bill of live performances staged near the fire pit that will be followed by a movie screening.

  • Buffalo Nickel, a twist on jazz & swing that mixes strings, reeds, vocal harmonies and irresistible dance rhythms
  • Old Time Cobras, traditional old-time music with roots in Appalachia and the Deep South.
  • O Brother, Where Art Thou?, the 2000 Coen Brothers’ film that won two Grammys for its soundtrack of American folk and country music. Starts after dark.

Friday, June 19Juneteenth, 12 noon–4 p.m., exact timing TBD.

Movie Nights

Saturday, August 29 — O Brother, Where Art Thou?,  the Coen brothers’ 2000 satirical film about three escaped convicts on an odyssey through the Depression-era American South.
